Danica Patrick Will Race at Daytona 500

NASCAR season 2018 is about to start, and there’s great news for Danica Patrick fans. She will be driving the first race of the season, the Daytona 500, for the Premium Motorsport team as a one –race contract. However, before she officially retires from this sport, she will drive one more race, namely the Indianapolis 50 in May this year.

In Daytona, Danica will wear the familiar “GoDaddy” green colors, drive the Chevrolet, and have No. 7 on it. GoDaddy, the internet service provide, has a contract with Danica that guarantees her sponsorship of both races this year, but the team for her second race in May hasn’t been confirmed yet.

Danica’s Chief of Crew will be Tony Eury Jr. who in a statement said that this isn’t just an opportunity to put him back in the pit box, but an opportunity to have fun. He also said that this deal couldn’t get any better because they both had success at Daytona before, and now Danica has much more experience, and he can’t wait to see how she does during the Speedweeks.

Just a reminder, in 2013, Danica became the first woman driver to ever win a pole position in the Daytona 500, and that was her rookie season. She finished that race in eighth, and she is also the proud owner of the title of the first woman to win a race in IndyCar.

At the end, Danica’s statement that she feels great that her decision to “go with the flow” is working out for her and that she feels confident about ending her professional driving career this way.
